Here I’ll tell you about the 7 best grammar keyboard apps, along with their features, price, pros and cons, and guide you to choose which one is best for you.

I have used all these apps myself, and I can say that grammar keyboard apps make our phones advanced. We spend most of our time working on our phones throughout the day and keep sending messages and emails. So Grammar keyboard apps come in handy to avoid any grammar or spelling mistakes.

I’ve tested them myself and will recommend the right apps for you. This article will make every effort to ensure your search is complete.

Please note: I have personally installed and tested all these keyboard apps on my mobile, be it iOS or Android, and have taken snapshots so that I can give you a better and real review.

Let’s not waste much time and find out which are the 7 most popular and secure apps for your Android and iOS.

Grammarly

Grammarly keyboard is an AI writing assistance that works on your phone (both Android and iOS) to give clarity and fluency to your writing.

I installed the Grammarly keyboard app on my phone and found that it works wonderfully. Its tools improve the overall performance of my content, like grammar and spelling checks, punctuation, vocabulary, better word choice, and enhancing my basic content to advanced. I have tried to show the same in the images.

What Does it Offer You? (Key Features)

It offers you the following key features to make you write more confidently:

  • Accurate Grammar and spelling checker: As I started writing on my phone, it automatically suggested ways to correct mistakes and provided feedback for learning purposes in my writing in real time.
  • Improves verbs and punctuation: It highlighted the mistakes with red lines and showed me the options to rectify the verbs and punctuation while I was writing.
  • I noticed the same with the desktop app; Grammarly keyboard also has a color-coded system to help you differentiate your mistakes.
  • Adjust tone and rephrase sentences: It makes you sound the way you want to. I changed my writing style by setting a tone like confident, inspirational, etc., and it changed within a single click. (Available for premium users)
  • Interface: I personally liked the interface, which is very user-friendly; it pops up as a small option on the side of your keyboard for correction without disturbing you.
  • Voice typing: It doesn’t offer built-in speech-to-text, but you can voice-type it by using your other keyboard, and Grammarly will suggest corrections.
  • Language support: Currently, Grammarly keyboard for mobile supports only the English language with British, US, and Indian dialects.
  • Offline v/s online: Grammarly keyboard only works when you’re online, so I recommend you to have a stable internet connection.

Pricing

Regarding pricing, I recommend the free version if you are a student or a new writer, as you will be getting limits like unlimited access.

But if you’re a professional writer, don’t force yourself to settle for free. You can opt for Grammarly’s Pro plan, which offers unlimited access to all the advanced tools in the individual plan as well as the team plan.

If you’re a team of two or more, the Pro plan is for you, giving you the freedom to customize it based on your team size.

Works on both Android and iOS: Grammarly keyboard fully supports iOS but does not provide a keyboard in Android, rather shows its suggestions and corrections in other keyboards in the form of a pop-up.

Runs in the background and always automatically offers suggestions through a pop-up. It keeps disconnecting from itself and happens frequently in many cases.
Runs in the background and always automatically offers suggestions through a pop-up. Improve text only once a day unless you’re not a pro user.
In my opinion, Grammarly performed very well, and the best part was that it works silently in the background and gives suggestions in a pop-up manner.

It does not disturb, and because of the mobile screen size, it is designed to float, which you can adjust accordingly.

Let’s move on to the next app, which will save your money as it is free of cost.

Pros and Cons:

Pros for GboardCons for Gboard
Multiple features with 150+ language support are a game-changer.  Autocorrection sometimes changes the words and meaning of the sentence itself.
Emojis, stickers, and GIFs not only search but can also show up relevant options by just writing. Long-pressing the space button changes the language all by itself, which sometimes seems irritating
In my opinion, Gboard best offers almost all the essential features, and even some features that paid apps don't offer, such as handwriting and speech-to-text. Unless you're a professional writer dealing with international clients, Gboard will work well for you.

The next app will auto-respond to your messages, so let’s see its special features and price.

Pricing:

Writely’s pricing is slightly higher than others. They don’t have a yearly plan and offer it on a monthly basis. I recommend $4 per month is the best option compared to other plans.

And if you’re looking for the team, pricing starts at $34 per month, which provides a limit of up to 3 members.

Pros and Cons:

Pros for WritelyCons for Writely
Writely‘s poem generation feature is a great way to turn your regular text into a poem.At this price and with so much language support, it would be better if translation tools could also be provided.
The concept of Chatbot is new, in which you can get essays generated on any topic at the same time.
In my opinion, Writely is a decent tool that doesn't offer as many essential tools as per the price. Its poem generation feature is quite eye-catching, and everyone will use it at least once. However, with so many languages, I missed the translation tool.

The reason I chose the next one is that it supports both online and offline keyboard apps. You don’t have to worry about an internet connection.

How to Choose a Grammar Keyboard App?

Now, when it comes to choosing the right grammar keyboard app, the first thing you should know is what features you should keep in mind while testing any keyboard. Let’s understand it with the use cases.

Use case:

  •  If you are a student or non-professional, then you should take the keyboard app with the basic plan, in which your basic spelling gets corrected, or if you need translation or changing the language, then you get that too in the basic plan.

As per my take, Grammarly, Gboard, and Ginger keyboard are good options.

  • If you are a professional, like a content writer or digital marketer who frequently has to message your clients via email, WhatsApp, and other social media, then it is important to respond in a casual and professional language; for this, you should take premium plans and advanced keyboards.

As per my take, Grammarly, Gboard, Writely, CleverType, and LanguageTool are decent options.

Features to Look for When Choosing:

  • It is important to see that not only spelling but also Grammar mistakes should be corrected.
  • It acts as a writing assistant to guide you and provide real-time suggestions, such as referencing, word suggestions, tone, and style suggestions.
  • See if it supports multiple languages and offers translation features.
  • Make sure the keyboard supports both Android and iOS versions.
  • Ensure that the keyboard responds both online and offline. Many keyboards disconnect when offline.

See, English is not my native language, and there are many other languages that are not possible to learn all of them. In such a situation, if you are a professional and talk to foreign clients, then the grammar keyboard comes in handy.

For professionals, it is very important to pay attention not only to grammar but also to different spellings (for example, Colour and Color are the same thing, but the difference is British and American English) and other rules of every language.

Conclusion

Now that we have reached the end of the article, I hope I have paused your search for a bit, and you can find the answer to your questions on this page.

I would like to tell you that professionals of the highest degree often respond to clients’ emails, and it is very important that you take a good premium plan. Don’t push for free plans and products.

I have tried my best to help you choose a keyboard app. I personally installed all the apps on my mobile and gave you a review through snapshots. If you have any questions, you can ask in the comments section.
